Blessed With More Than Meets The Eye
He handles the microphone with the grace and ease of a musical virtuoso, shifting from prolific to profound. Verse is his method, versatility is his gift. This man is the epitome of gifted, obviously touched by a higher power, blessed to create. His name is Christopher Rogers, otherwise known as Handz or Handler, Mic Handler.
When most fell victim or became products of their environments, Handler used the streets of Brooklyn as a tool of advancement. Having witnessed life at its realest, seeing friends and family cut down in their prime, illicit street dealings was not an option for Handler. He was able to parlay his experiences into a creative outlet and make his own choices. He chose to rise above adversity and set an example. He chose to tap into his creativity and show the world what he saw through his eyes. A poet of the streets, with a story that could not be silenced, Handler made a way for himself. His attitude has always been one of accomplishing whatever goals he set his mind to.
Not many MC’s can boast to have graced the pages of today’s leading publications like Vibe magazine, XXL, The Source, and several others. Handler has been featured as a International model for several clothing lines,
including his own line called INTELLECT DENIM. Before the onslaught of rapper-turned-designer, Handler had already established himself as a fashion-force to be reckoned with. Starting with the underground fashion house Mochachino, his design input was crucial in the development of their crossover success. Handler also worked thru the offices of SEAN JOHN, KROSS KOLOUR, AZZURE, TEN STACKS, D VIZIONZ and then went on to
head up the Pepsi Clothing label as their head designer.
Currently Handler functions as the head graphic/fashion designer for
Gino Green Global in New York City.
In a time when rappers are starting to look towards other avenues to broaden their mass appeal, Handler has already broken ground as a featured in the cult-classic “Ghetto Dawgz 2”, which was critically well received. Just another notch on his champion belt, as well as attained the opportunities to sustain himself doing television commercials and soundtrack features for independent and major motion pictures.
Handler continues to ascend to a level that acts signed to major record labels can only dream of.
His greatest love, music, is what propels him. The music is what makes all things possible. Not only is he a talented MC, but he is also an accomplished baritone vocalist.
Whether singing a hook or blazing the microphone with his heartfelt lyrics, it becomes painfully obvious to the listener that they are witnessing something unearthly and spiritual. Sitting amongst the ranks of the greatest Hip Hop MC’s of all time, Biggie, Tupac, Rakim, Nas,Jay-Z and LL Cool J, the spawn of their struggles is embodied in a charismatic new player, Mic Handler.
